ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & CONDUCTOR

Véronique Lussier is a Canadian symphonic and operatic conductor, and pedagogue originating from the Montreal region of Quebec.

Most recently, in 2025, Ms. Lussier conducted the Orchestre Classique de Montréal in the Opera Candy Hansel and Gretel in collaboration with Jeunesses Musicales Canada, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc in a Brahmsian repertoire, and participated in a significant event by the Société de Musique Contemporaine du Québec and Productions Bradyworks. In partnership with Tapestry Opera Women in Musical Leadership, she will be assistant conductor for the National Youth Orchestra of Canada's 65th anniversary tour this summer season.

As a guest conductor, Véronique has notably led the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec, the Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke, and the Sinfonia de Lanaudière, including performances at Festival Classica and the Montreal International Jazz Festival. From 2021 to 2024, she served as Artistic Director and Conductor of I Medici di McGill, presenting benefit concerts in support of various humanitarian causes.

From 2015 to 2020, Ms. Lussier founded and held the positions of Artistic Director and Conductor of the Projet Ambassadeur, in partnership with the Orchestre Symphonique de Longueuil and the Development of music audiences in Quebec. This project encompassed approximately twenty municipalities and received support from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Canimex Group and numerous sponsors.

Ms. Lussier earned a Doctor of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the Université de Montréal in 2018, holds a Master's degree in Choral Conducting from the Université de Sherbrooke, and a Bachelor's degree in Classical Piano and Pedagogy from the Université du Québec. She was awarded the Perras, Cholette & Cholette, and Faculté des études supérieures scholarships of excellence, and pursued international workshops in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and the United States.

Her experience in music pedagogy, her lectures, as well as her involvement in the Steinberg and Choral Enchanté projects as an ambassador for the Montreal Symphony Orchestra during Kent Nagano's tenure, demonstrate her profound belief in the multidimensional and beneficial impact of music.

With a sensitive approach to music, Véronique brings an emotional intensity to her conducting that she passionately conveys to both musicians and the audience. She is recognized as a dynamic, unifying, creative, and versatile leader.
