From 2015 to 2020, with the Longueuil Symphony Orchestra, now renamed the Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec, Véronique launched and directed the OSDL Ambassador Project, an ambitious initiative aimed at making symphonic music accessible to all in the south-central Montérégie region.

This project of several classical and popular music concerts with multimedia, carried out in collaboration with Audience Development for Music in Quebec, has helped to promote culture, democratize classical music, and revitalize the historical heritage of several municipalities. It has also highlighted many artists, soloists and composers, including many emerging artists, and allowed audiences to discover the most beautiful works of the great repertoire.

In close collaboration with the general manager and the team, the project extended the orchestra's influence to the entire MRC Roussillon, a Canadian first. Fifteen concerts conducted allowed Véronique to quickly acquire experience and versatility in the professional world, as well as expertise in artistic direction, cultural project management, and socio-musicology. This project, supported by the Development of Music Audiences in Quebec (DPMQ) of the University of Montreal, was also an integral part of her doctoral thesis in orchestral conducting.

"Ms. Lussier's approach in the Ambassador Project went beyond the simple democratization of classical music. She succeeded in creating a special atmosphere so that the audience could truly become an integral part of the concert. I am happy to be able to testify to the qualities that Véronique has demonstrated in the organization, development, animation, and financing of this project.

It was a pleasure for me to accompany her in the realization of this project."

Gilles Choquet

General Manager 2009-2018

Thanks to a diversified program, a strong territorial presence, and the support of partners including the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA), the Quebec Council for the Arts and Letters (CALQ), municipalities, and private partners such as Canimex, the OSDL Project has succeeded in reaching a wider audience and positioning the orchestra as an essential cultural player in the region.

Convinced of the power of music and its beneficial influence, Véronique's greatest desire is to energize the symphonic concert experience in a variety of musical styles with the common goal of reaching a wide audience and winning over new audiences.

"As an active citizen of the MRC, I am thrilled to be able to share my passion by enriching the cultural and social life of our community, rich in an exceptional historical heritage for Quebec and Canada."
